Hi All

I need some advice and recommendations on a motherboard?I have a couple in mind:I.Im going to upgrade some components like my cpu to a 3rd Gen Ryzen and Im switching my gpu from amd to nvidia aswell. I am not happy with my Asus Mb which is a B450PRIME.I dont know if i want to stick with the B450 chipset and the asus brand. but here are the ones i have been looking at .The things i like about msi is there's more to offer in terms of specs
B450 TOMAHAWK
B450 GAMING PLUS
X470 GAMING PLUS
B450 AORUS PRO
Prime X370-Pro

any help would be great

What are the other boards going to do for you that the asus b450 prime cant do?

The software is terrible which I don’t like, the bios fan xpert doesn’t work. The Oc clocking compared to msi the msi has much better software as I’ve personally seen. Some of the other boards pci slots arnt plastic which also makes it better. There aren’t enough sata slots aswell as usb 2.0 slots and a limited number a fan headers. So the msi offers more. Aesthetics doesn’t matter at all

Ah I see so you have to do i bios upgrade regardless?Do you know if the B450m mortar micro-atx board is available?wootware said they were discontinued but rebeltech said they were not and had stock?i was told the only board as close to the mortar is the bazooka plus. But if they were discontinued they shouldn’t be on the website

Is it not the b450 mortar titanium that is discontinued but the b450m mortar is still being sold?

Btw, if you looking for a MSI motherboard that is the closest to the b450 tomahawk but a bit cheaper then try and find the b450 A-pro

Bios flashback feature on applicable msi motherboards do not require a cpu. Other brands also offer this.

To what im reading at the moment msi bios roms is only 16mb. They are now rolling out lite version in taking the "nice" look away. My order is at evetech at the moment with a x470 gaming pro, which when i collect will return and get asus. As per some people on redit msi will only release bios end of the month, but not confirmed

Not all depends on the specific board. Gaming 7 AC and Gaming Pro Carbon are fine as they have the 32mb bios.

Well, of the X570 boards, the Gigabyte Aorus Elite seems like great value for money, although it is quite a bit more expensive than those you listed @ ~R4100 at Rebeltech.
At least it's in stock.

Anyway, watch Buildzoids motherboard reviews, he seems quite knowledgeable.

You know you WANT the Gigagyte X570 Aorus Xtreme. You are just asking to be pushed and not feel guilty about it.
I would never use a gigabyte board even if you gave me one for free. For the x570 it’s a waste of money for that price you could get a 3700x or the new 5700 Gpu;p
