Surely this is dangerous this early on?

^Qualification - dangerous to his full recovery to put himself through so much strain this early on. he won't be as sharp and won't be able to push as he normally does - and might even increase the chances of an accident by him

Do you guys think / feel that a MotoGP championship in this shortened format and where MM93 might not be fully fit is devalued?

I ask because I was reading a quick article where they were chatting through this. Alberto Puig seems to think so (but he would say that of course)

Devalued.. No, i dont think so.
dont get me wrong, the norm MotoGP is/was exciting, but with MM winning all the time... this just throws a spanner in the works, which is gonna be alot more excisting i reckon
I know this is MotoGP thread, but the same goes with F1 - imo,
 
Darryn Binder is going to crash himself out of MotoGP at this rate. At 22 he is old by Moto3 standards when you consider the fact that

These riders are a different breed.

Troy Bayliss had a part of his finger amputated because allowing it time to heal would've kept him out of the saddle. Rossi was back in the saddle 18-days after a double leg break in 2010 and returned to racing within 3 weeks. Mick Doohan was so stuffed up by the end of his career he had to be carried on to his bike.

Has MM93 been out on track today? I missed FP1 (totally forgot about it)

Edit: From a website not too far from here >> Reigning world champion Marc Marquez was absent from FP1 and won't appear this afternoon having had surgery on his broken right arm on Tuesday.

The Honda rider will attempt to ride on Saturday before evaluating whether he will race or not on Sunday

Yeah true. It could have been low fuel qualy sims he was doing which may partly explain the speed. Also, when you look where he finished FP2 (11th, 3/4 of a second back), it may lend credence to a FP1 false dawn. Still, he showed last week he has good race pace so if he stays up on Sunday, he will be a factor.
 
It's quite impressive how F1 seems to be getting a number of new races... Now up to 13 with pote tially a few more flyaways to be added
 
MM93 did an out lap and went back into the pits and straight into his motor home

Doesn't look like he will set a qualy time

Edit: confirmed that he won't return to the track for qualy.

AM73 crashes and looks to have hurt his right arm, Repsol Honda starting last and second last in the race tomorrow
 
59 degree track temp! Pity Brad couldn't keep that last lap going but he's there or thereabouts. Should be a good race tomorrow!
 
Missed quali. What position was Brad on for, I read he made a mistake toward the end of his fastest lap. Top-5, about Oliveira's pace?

Yeah, was looking good for a second row but then got the bike all squirrily coming into the last corner.
 
I feel bad for Repsol Honda. They have both the best and worst rider in MotoGP.

Nice to see Rossi starting in 4th.
I hope it's the beginning of a resurgence.
 
Excellent 4th place for Darryn. Close to grabbing a podium but for now finishing a race is already an achievement.
