Damn.... his crash did look hectic. This is the risk with these sprints and more races in a year
 
Loved the sprints, good to have the Moto back, Darren is coming along nicely as well.

Yeah. He landed hard. I'd be surprised if Marini gets away with anything less than a grid drop for that incident.

Simon was even proposing having 3 bikes per rider to cater for practise, qualy and sprint crashes

Yeah, heard that too. Unlikely though, in this era of sustainability and cost cutting. Guess riders and teams will just have to adapt.

Almost have the sprints watering down FP1 and 2 to an extent... Do a good enough lap to get through in top 10 while not going balls to the wall

Did you find a channel to watch this season? DSTV? Videopass? IpTV?

Bumming a mate's DStv stream for now. Looked into the videopass but unless I win the lottery or get a fat increase, it's not happening, haha!

Yeah, it was an awful shunt. Just glad it was relatively low speed. Massive respect to Brad. Racing to a brilliant 6th despite his obvious discomfort. But that Ducati is just a missile down the straight. It's scary!

Pedro's pace spells danger for the rest of the field. He was pushed hard by Canet but his win was rarely in doubt. Pity about Darren's spill as he was looking solid in the top 10.

Argentina next weekend. Evening race, SA time...

Weekend to forget for Honda... And Yamaha.

Last year's Ducati still powering past but if KTM can find a few more horses Brad and Jack will be up there.

MM93 will miss Argentina. had surgery yesterday as he also injured his hand
 
Moto3 rider Joel Kelso should be penalized as well, despite a probable injury.
The crash into Holgado may have been accidental, but it was reckless nonetheless. He basically fell asleep behind the wheel.

I suppose it is circuit dependent. Some tracks like Catalunya have a horrid long lap lane that rules you out of contention whereas Brno's for example is not that bad. Grid drops these days are more effective than they used to be due to the close and even nature of bike performance. Gone are the days when a rider on superior machinery would just blow past other bikes. They may still come through the field, but it takes far longer by which time, they're normally out of the running for podiums or victories.
