Very likely. There's no point in entering a second team into the sport with the intention of gathering data if you don't have the riders who can provide feedback on that data and drive the subsequent development based on thereon. Yamaha may well have been within their rights to have a convincing opinion on who they want riding the Pramac bikes.

I found this article which indicates that Yamaha may indeed have significant influence over who rides for Pramac.

Pending details, the agreement will be multi-year, first until the end of 2026, which is when the manufacturers' contract with Dorna ends, and thereafter, with the entry of the new technical regulations in MotoGP, Pramac will enjoy a long-term contract to become a partner team with official Yamaha equipment, which will charge a reduced price for the bikes and pay the riders' tab.

They will be paying the riders' salaries. Overall, this seems like sweet deal for Pramac as it lowers their operating costs while giving them access to the latest machinery. Sure, they are likely to see a significant decline in on-track success in the immediate future, but they are setup pretty well long-term.
 
Fermin Aldeguer has signed for Gresini Ducati for 2025 and in additional Gresini news, they have committed to Ducati to the end of 2026. I don't think they are going to be on factory spec machinery though.

Ducati will only run three GP25s next season, the 3rd factory bike will be going to VR46 and Digia will get it as he is now a Ducati-contracted rider.

Franco Morbidelli (Digia's teammate for 2025) and Gresini to get GP24s.

Di Giannantonio, who secured his MotoGP future last year only in the penultimate race of the season when he won the Qatar Grand Prix, will, in 2025 and 2026, become a third rider contracted to the Bologna brand to race a factory-spec Desmosedici, of which there will be only three from next year.

Hopefully for Pecco'a sake, they figure out what his tyre issues were. Otherwise he's in for an even longer day. Happy to see MM93 win again but damn stoked for Quartararo! What a ride. Hopefully signs of things to come for Yamaha.

Hope Pecco is ok; terrible crash there. World championship carries on!

Also nice to see Pedro on the podium, Brad had a good race too just not quite quick enough
 
Oh wow, he crashed? When I had to head out, he was homing in on Alex Marquez hand over fist. Will have to check the highlights.
 
It looks like KTM is finding something. The GP24 is untouchable, likely the peak engineering of the 1000cc MotoGP era, but in recent races KTM have at least looked closer to the GP23 (at least the ones not ridden by Marc) and have surpassed Aprilia in the last few rounds.

Aprilia were absolutely no where this weekend - it was shocking to say the least

Qualifying better won't really help against Pecco and Jorge on the GP24s, they are in a different league, and the GP23 still has enough to beat everything else, however they (KTM) have surpassed Aprilia as the ''best of the rest'' and the last couple of races have seen their best finishes since the start of the season. For Brad specifically, the last two rounds have been his first top-5s since the opening two rounds of the season. Progress. Just that the measuring bar is the Ducati, which is on its own level.

Not disputing the Duke strength :) You can't keep on qualifying 3rd and 4th row and then have to drive lights out and still not passing anyone in front of you. If Acosta can put his bike on the front row, then so can Brad. With Marc and Jorge running away at the front, at least be in a position to compete for podium

Haha! Yeah it is indeed. Not expecting fireworks from Yamaha (both factory and Pramac teams) but we should see solid progression throughout the year from both.
