Acosta is the fastest KTM in 6th, 1/10th faster than Brad with Miller not even making top 10

Top Honda is Zarco with Marini in last. Fabio and Rins struggling in the bottom-mid pack

Haha, I was going to say normal service resumed in terms of the sprint podium until Esparagaro threw one up the inside of Pecco.

Early in the season I know, but really ominous signs for Jack Miller. Easily dispatched by Acosta. I wonder if Red Bull KTM would follow their F1 compatriots and make a mid season change to their factory line up.

We actually mentioned this in the house today - if Marko was at RB KTM Miller would already be on thin ice. Pedro managed to keep up until the last few laps as well - the talent is there and the hype is real

Lets see how it goes tomorrow - really glad Brad as able to hold off the others and hopefully tomorrow someone can get ahead of Martin to make it more interesting.

And if Acosta does well, I can BB33 & PA31 partnership sooner rather than later...
Pedro held his race till tires gave way / was talk of arm pump issues as well...
 
A good start to the season across all three classes. Moto3 was manic as usual, Moto2 threw up several surprises with tyre degradation (an issue that should be less apparent as the teams get accustomed to the new Pirelli rubber) and MotoGP was fascinating, even though the result was a bit to be expected. Acosta is breathing down Miller's neck for that second factory KTM seat and once he understands tyre maintenance, he will be a force.

Brad is tantalisingly within range of the Ducatis, who have now won 10 races on the bounce; domination not seen since the heady Honda days of the early 00's. Speaking of Honda (and Japan), another long year seems to be in store for them. Those concessions can't be used quickly enough. Fabio Quartararo will be getting his CV in order in due course if this carries on.
 
Another season and Brad was the only non-Ducati rider that could hang with the Bologna missiles.

Not a great start for Franco on a Ducati.

Miller is a dead man walking.

I’m giving Franco a few more races, he missed a lot of testing and it’s a new bike for him.

The Japanese bikes are in a world of hurt though, all of them
 
Fermin Aldeguer has signed a two deal with Ducati with an option for an additional two year extension. Crucially, it doesn't mention which team as apparently Prima Pramac Ducati & VR46 Racing are in the last year of the current partnership with Ducati. Pramac will likely extend their relationship with Ducati but there's talk that given Rossi's close relationship with Yamaha, his team may go there. Although, Uccio Salucci is keen to stay with the Italian marque.
 
Ugh, Brad has his work cut out. Disappointing spill in Q2 means he starts 10th and at a track that is difficult to overtake, he's going to need a rocket start coupled with some bravery to get near the front.

Racing incident between Marc and Pecco? Or who is at fault?
