MotoGP 2025

Eish, the defending champ's life as an Aprilia rider goes from bad to worse. From motogp.com

Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) is confirmed to miss the PT Grand Prix of Thailand after suffering fractures in his left hand in a training crash ahead of the season opener.

The #1 was preparing for the Thai GP after being sidelined from most of pre-season testing following his crash on Day 1 of the Sepang Test.

He will undergo surgery on his left hand - not the one he broke in Malaysia - on Tuesday in Barcelona, with recovery times to be determined after surgery is complete.

Aprilia have confirmed that Lorenzo Savadori will sub for the reigning World Champion at Round 1.

Well, I've got bad news for MotoGP lovers for this season.
The factory Ducati team will cakewalk this season between Marquez and Bagnaia, with Bagnaia just beating Marquez.
No other teams or riders will be able to challenge them consistently, and will be a distant best of the rest amongst themselves and score a lucky win if both factory Ducatis fall off.
Yamaha will improve to fight consistently in the top 10.
Honda will still suck more balls.
I always knew Martin would not be able to defend his title this year, and being on an Aprilia doesn't help.
KTM will suck even more balls. Acosta will crash a lot I think.
Ai Ogura will be rookie of the year.

Let's see how many I will get right. :p

Good news as KTM's restructuring plan is given the green light. From crash.net

The Pierer Mobility Group has announced that KTM AG’s restructuring plan to pay back creditors and ensure its survival was accepted in a regional court in Austria on Tuesday.

The Austrian firm entered into self-administration on 29 November 2024 as it looked to stave off bankruptcy having fallen into a major financial crisis over the course of last year.

Staff layoffs, a pause in production, CEO Stefan Pierer stepping down and a scaling back of its factory racing programmes all followed as KTM tried to navigate the situation.

Winning key regional court milestones over the past few months, KTM’s decisive day was Tuesday 25 February when its restructuring plan would be voted on by creditors.

With debts at over €2 billion, KTM’s restructuring plan vowed to pay back 30% to creditors - initially within two years, but that has been accelerated to be completed by the end of May 2025.

That plan was accepted by creditors, who will receive a combined €548 million, which will be deposited with the restructuring administrator by 23 May.

The courts will then confirm the restructuring at the start of June, whereby the proceedings will be official ended once legally binding.

Thanks... saving me from watching the season :) I hope KTM will prove you wrong btw

Not at all, it's my pleasure, lol! :p
Trust me, I hope KTM will be a contender... but my gut tells me otherwise unfortunately.
It's tough being right all the time, so for once I'd like to be wrong, dammit! :sneaky:

Bagnia will be looking at the Marquez butt so much he'll reconsider his sexual orientation.

Aldeguer is my pick for rookie of the year.

Biggest smile of the year will go to Jack Miller for getting kicked off the Titanic before it set sail.

Wooohoooo so glad MotoGP is back!!!!

Pecco into Q1 blocked by Morbidelli. Frankie is really bad with situational awareness

I was fine with that until I saw Brad also pushed into Q1 :) Quali is going to be fun tomorrow... but so early on a Saturday...
so so early - i might just catch replays

Brad out of Q2 and Acosta third in practice. Eish, hope not a sign of things to come this season.

I never read too much into practice or qualifying times, since it's race days that will show the real results, but there are a few surprises in the timing standings, but it's still early days yet.

There is only two conclusions I can make however, and that Pedro Acosta will dominate Brad Binder at KTM, and after five years in MotoGP Brad Binder still hasn't sorted out his one lap qualifying effort/pace, which will reflect again in his grid positions this year, unfortunately.

Agree on both conclusions :( It's so frustrating seeing him getting knocked out in injury time. Q1 is tough, with only one spot open since Pecco will take the other. Will see how the KTMs launch come the sprint start.

Yeah. He needs to sort Saturday out. Otherwise it is going to be a very long season for him. Acosta is a freak though. He'd probably get that Honda straight into Q2.

Nah fam, not the Honda

If Brad sorts out 1lap qualy then he will be there and thereabouts with Pedro but i also wonder if Pedro is STILL riding around / through the KTM limitations and Brad is still hampered by them or if it was just unlucky for Brad and the bike has actually taken a leap forward
