Ive got a 1996 hyundai elantra that's been fully tricked out..Running a 136 Db sound system,Custom built body kit, Scooby package 9 boot spoiler, Scooby pro drive exhaust system, gas flowed head, BnC air fuel induction kit, cams have been done 260 degree, its been chipped. The thing is im still not to happy about the power output of the car...I want more:D!!

i was thinking about droppiing a 2,7 litre tiburon motor in it and doing a T66
turbo on the motor..but im having 2nd thoughts now:confused:

Is that the rite motor to go with?

What do you guys think?
Need some advice...Please help JK8 and insane???

i'll post some when i get the car back from the body shop, an idiot drove into me at brightwater commons and he jst drove away...Wish i could get my hands on him!!!

I thought about NOS...but i don't think that's the way to go for me...yeah i can fit a 300bhp nos kit but it only lasts for a few seconds and i don't want that...I want the performance all the time.

Dude it sounds like you really went 'east rand' on your car - a bit of overkill there.

Anyway to answer your question, it's hard to say exactly what type of blower you need to stick in there. You might find that a T3/T4 hybrid would work better with that engine. The best thing to do is to take it to a specialist and see what they recommend.

PS: You might want to consider removing that Scooby boot spoiler. Those things look absolutely ghastly on a car, and you might find that it could even affect your car's aerodynamics if your car isn't designed to use it.

Yeah i know what you mean, NOS is only good for the strip.
What about a blower then? An engine swap is such a long and expensive way to go about it.

You read my mind, they removed the spoiler today. it did actually affect the car's aerodynamic performance...added alota drag!!

Thanx for the advice i'll keep that in mind.

It is a long and painfully expenssive process, but I think it'll be worth it in the end.

Thanx JK8...I knew you would come thru...You don't perhaps know what the tazz's kw on the wheels were?

I spoke to japtech, buying myself a Mitsubishi lancer 2L turbo motor and gearbox from them for R10 500. Not a bad price and it punches out roughly 190kw as is!!! Now just to get bigger brakes...Mmmmm

Before you do anything stupid

1. Make sure the engine will fit. If not what mods needs to be done to the engine bay
2. Your going to drop a 2.7L in there, will there be space for the Pipes and Turbo
3. What do you want to do with the car, drag race ?
4. Your fuel management system needs to change, you're computer box needs to change or be re-chipped again
5. What engine have you got in there currently ?

Not gonna run a 2,7L anymore, going for a mitsubishi lancer 2L turbo motor now, that should fit no problem. Some of the mountings will have to be changed but that's not 2 hectic. As for computer box and wiring im going for the mitsubishi box and harness wich im getting with the motor. The car's gonna be a show car but it will also be there for beating the snot out of scooby's and M3's.:D

Ok let me try and tell you how to have the most fun with your enige ;)

Start with your current engine, work it bit by bit. Cams, pullies, valves, pistons, conrods, Throttle bodies or Side drafts. You keep going at the motor till it can't take any more. Once done, upgrade too a bigger size engine and do the same. Normal Aspiration is the most fun you'll ever have.

Standard "Turbo" issue cars will never keep up with you ;)

And that takes alot of money and alot of time. But that is why we get the most respect from the racing community. Any wet fart can put a turbo in a motor :p

Ive spent about R70 000 on the car already, it runs really well and sounds totally wicked. I agree going normally aspirated is awsum but there are some financial issues with that...A guy i know had spent over R60 000 just on his motor, it crapped out after 3weeks and it took roughly 20min to start the car every morning LOL!! i wanna start my car 1st try every day and i wanna drive it to work and back so i need reliability, I don't wanna sit in traffic playing with the clutch to keep the engin ticking over!! I do have a normally aspirated ford mustang GT500 5,7L v8 wich i adore but now i need a turbo car.

You have not driven a turbo yet have you ? Or if you have you can't drive it correctly. I'm not dishing you but have you even owned a turbo and raced it ? If done correctly your Clutch will last 3 months most ;) But if it's for daily driving, why waiste the money, leave it as is :o

Just my 2c

You don't have a GT500.
