Motorola Defy/MB525 2.59 rooting

I have problems rooting under Windows 7 64bit. Has anybody else successfully rooted on firmware 2.59?

I suspect it is driver issues, since ADB stops working after I execute rage in the cage. I can only get ADB to work again after rebooting the phone and reinstalling the drivers on Windows.
 
2.59?? wtf is 2.59? version of android? the length of your... nose? lol?

Anyway, I used super one click, easy as pie! I literally clicked once, which is super! :D

Oh, and don't you need to put your phone in debugger mode, so that the program can gain access to the binaries, or some computer sciencie stuff like that.
 
ugh.... Well it's rooted now :) But clockwork won't mount my SD card. I read somewhere that I need to do an official update to Froyo first. this is driving me crazy
 
What do you mean by clockwork? The ROM or the clockwork recovery?

What are you trying to do? Maybe search the XDA forums since your device has been hacked and developed for in detail over there.
 
yeah, clockwork recovery won't mount the SD. From what I have read it is limitation with the Android 2.1 ROM that is currently on the phone. So I will attempt to upgrade to the official Moto 2.2.2 and see how it goes then
 
Rooted and everything working. I if anybody in the future has problems with rooting, DO AN OFFICIAL UPGRADE to Froyo first. Alternatively you can flash a Froyo with RSD Lite, but you must be on Froyo for the clockwork recovery to work properly
