Motorola Defy on contract?

I use EasyTether to tether my Defy to my laptop...and it even works with Ubuntu. Yes it may not be wifi...but using the cable is better cause it charges your phone while you connected.
 
Did anyone have porting issues.

Ported from Vodacom to Cell C, now the number is on a prepaid sim card, but they can't seem to port the Cell C number to RBM?

RBM is in fact Cell C. You cant port a Cell C number to Cell C. RBM is not really a VMO like Virgin is. RBM is more in the line of a Cell C tarriff. You would think that they would be able to migrate you to the RBM tariff on their side...but they apparently cant. You will have to port the number back to Vodacom, and then back to Cell C straight to the RBM deal. Your problem is going to be that prepaid numbers can only port once every 3 months.

rules

1. You must collect any messages and information stored by your current Network, however these can still be lost during the port process.
2. Any remaining credit and unused usage allowances are not transferable to Vodacom.
3. Vodacom may not support certain services from your current Network and these may not be available from Vodacom.
4. You will still be liable for any usage costs on your old and new network prior to and after the porting time.
5. Porting does not relieve you of any contractual obligations with your existing service provider.
6. You will only be able to port to another network once every 2 months.

So cell c messed up. The port should've been direct to RBM?

How sure are you? Can I take this info and go postal on the cell c guy?

I am very sure. Read it in the Cell C section soon after the RBM deal was launched. Some Cell C clients there wanted to know if they also get this deal on their existing Cell C numbers when they upgrade and the answer was no.
