Does anyone know if the Defy is available via any of the service providers? I've only seen them for sale at Expansys, but not being offered as part of a contract package.

Are you looking for a Defy stove? Makro, Game and lots of other appliance stores sell them :D

I see you and me have the same problem. Also looking for an MB525 (defy) on a contract but it seems to be unavailable.

Also in the same boat. Hopefully with the new contract specials in February we will see it released :D

woot swim with ur phone? :D Engadget rather liked this phone

except for the obvious MotoBlur UI which does suck imo

This should have been put in the main thread to receive more attention :(

From what I saw there is a firmware out without the Motoblur UI. Think it was even released by Moto themselves.

Apparently will the Defy will be available through Vodacom outlets around end February

It looks like Virgin Mobile is the first provider offering the Motorola Defy on contract. :/ Would have hoped it would be MTN, Vodacom or Cell C. R299 on a top up R299 contract.

Ordered mine yesterday at Virgin for R170 a month. Arriving Friday this week :D

My sister inquired at our local stores in January about a Motorola phone and they said that VC no longer stocks Motorola .

Don't trust what one store's salesperson tells you. The staff seem to be only half-informed, so I tend to call a few first

So this doesn't bode well for the Motorola Atrix, which was launched in the US of A today.

And the Atrix is a "world phone", so not sure why Vodacom & MTN are not doing a promo, or showing it some love.

This is actually a beast of a phone (dual core CPU) & better screen res (540 x 960 pixels, 4.0'' display ) than anything else out there.

Check it out : http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_atrix-3709.php

*Oh, and it has a monster battery : Lithium 1930 mAh
