Motorola's Xoom has been hailed as the most likely tablet computer to rival Apple's iPad - the first with the goods to compete against the uncontested leader in this nascent but rapidly growing market.

Amazing, by the time the competitors are coming with the first real competition to the iPad, Apple is releasing iPad 2.

Ars Technica had a look at the Xoom and they're not happy. They say it has loads of potential, but 90% of the really cool stuff doesn't work yet and thus it's not really better than the iPad. A pity, because I don't like Apple much. The price on the Xoom is also a tad rough. Give it a year or two for tablet tech to mature some more, and we'll be laughin'.

I don't know why Motorola feels the need to rush their products so much. Something tells me Apple will still win big because the competitors seem to not have enough confidence in their products. Too bad because a lot of people really like the Xoom and can see it's potential, but it's manufacturer doesn't seem to believe that.

What about Huawei Ideos S7

Huawei has also recently launched it's tablet in the US for $399, with 3G capability. Hope this will be launched soon in SA for those of us who cannot afford Apple Ipad or Motorola Xoom.

7" is not big enough for a tablet IMO. When my phone is already running 4inch I want bigger. For some reason 10inch just appeals to me when it comes to tablets.
