Hi all

Please help me with your experience and opinions;

I would like to mount my decoder so that the wires are not visible. The obvious issues are; the way to mount and how to make the remote work.

I would like to do this cheaply by the way!

Get a cabinet that will allow you to do this.

EDIT: Wasn't thinking straight when I posted. Now I see you want to do it cheaply :p
If it is possible to send pics of your setup as it currently is, I think it would be easier to help you out. I am kinda in a similar boat and what I intend doing (some day) is building a removable false panel around some floating shelves for my entertainment system. So all you would see is components on their own little shelves and all the wiring would be behind the false panel. You can perhaps look into square PVC trunking to tidy op the cables, but unfortunately, you would sit with visible trunking instead of wires.

do you have a DSTV HD decoder with a splitter and a all that rubbish if so get a sat-cr lnb and reduce the wiring to 1 wire from the dish less to hide!

Thanks for the replies. I have yet to mount the tv so I can't really take a photo. The Ellies thing would solve the whole remote thing quite well although I can't quite see how it works.

I still need to manage to mount the decoder somewhere I and we don't want a cabinet.

@xodosman123 I have no idea what you are saying.

Approach it from behind to avoid eye contact.
Always approach downwind so that it can't smell you.

Mount it just like you would a pretty lady.

The link-eye goes inline between decoder and TV, it just relays info to the decoder from your remote. So the decoder can be anywhere in the vicinity and can be in any orientation. You only need to be able to get to it to swop out the smart card or reboot. Stick it to the back of your TV/flat screen with double sided tape or velcro.

Cool thanks. That is actually cool. We're thinking of reconnecting our AV player as the Samsung TV one is so bad so we might actually need this.
