Is there a way to practice your mouse aim, playing a game of COD all day does not exactly help me, alas i can aim but i need to fine point the aim and be able to hold it there.

:D

ANy ideas
 
best way is to play versus other people online or on lan. My favourite trainer is UT99. You can also go online and play many veterans - Lastly, try a FPS which is not based on frags but mission/assault type objectives. Which lets you forget about killing and focus on strategy. Killing comes naturally after a while! :)
 
I've also found UT04 to be nice for improving the natural aiming ability (As opposed to game specific) because it contains such a vast range of weapon types.

CS with aim map is also a possibility but it gets boring real fast.

As Pol-da-pot-smoka suggested, the settings make a huge difference. If your using a sniper rifle then a very low sensitivity allows amazing accuracy...but low sensitivity is a problem when your trying to dodge rockets in a close-up fight.
 
Quake 3 Arena is also pretty good, make sure you play those bots on nightmare though ;)

Have not played CoD4 yet... [dam 64k internet] but All I can say is that practise makes perfect!

would the aiming in certain games not differ?

so how can u train on UT then go play cod4?

does not make sense

Thats kinda true now thinking of it, i play mostly COD, but i need to pin point the aim on some occasions, and be able to keep it there.

Maybe thats the answer.:D

Depends what UT
UT99 2k3/4 I wasted those godlike bots! I even modded my own bot's in UT99 :D :D :D

As for UT3... eish Godlike it's like they are legaly hacking! :eek:

CoD4 as far as I can remeber from the demo, It's a Realism based game. When aiming, try to look down the sights and go for the chest area and use short bursts or single shots.

Also try to Turn Down your mouse sensitivity, trust me when it's supper sensative a flick of the wrist = 900º turn! when it's less sensative you have more conrtol, or is that just me? ;)
 
I read somewhere that the AI in the UT bots monitors your mouse clicks on godlike. Its the only reason why they can pull of well-timed sideways dodges. Dunno if it applies to the current UT though.

I find a good way to get back into FPS is play ut99 with instaGib, and once a week increase the game speed by .1 untill you're winning at double the speed... then go to TF2 (for me) and those games feel so slow and "take your time to aim" feel about them :D

also the pace...
in UT I'm running around and jumping and firing like crazy, the shots are well aimed and all but I hardly think when I play UT, its as if everything is on autopilot. Same goes for Quake 3.

COD however is alot slower paced, even if you're playing against 20-30 people. Its more about aiming and timing. You cant just run in and fire. Also in COD you die alot easier, you have less health.

Loved it when you check your score and you are about 30 frags above the bot below you!!

90% of my kills in TF2 where mostly spaming nade's or rockets into a area and some unlucky son-of-a-gun was in the wrong place at the wrong time!!

I find the scout fast though more so when trying to take another scout out :D
 
not true toxin, U cant learn how to play vs godlike bots imo.

maby im just different.. But to me getting ur aim 'back' sometimes just took a few good rounds of sparring masterful bots.

Godlike is bs since they dodge when u start sniping at them. they allways miss u till u hit them once and then they score. It messes with ur mind, playing online is nothing like this at all. You hs first u win.

Godlike xan is a piece of caek tho :)
 
a game that will teach would be bf 2 online

somestimes the game play is slow then when the server is full on urban maps you learn to shoot or die over and over

the best would be urban 2 infantry only, when there are 2 squads coming towards your flag, thats when you know if you can aim or not haha
