Move ONT box to another room

The ont is connected to a long fibre cable that goes into the ceiling, across inside the ceiling, into the same room again, then down the wall into a wall conduit that goes downstairs and outside to the fibre connection area outside.
Ye you should post a pic of how/where the fibre cable connects to the ONT, just that part-can then recommend a solution if you indeed want to go the fibre route.

Why do you need a pic exactly? It's a standard box like this: 1701339391535.png

The fibre goes out then up the wall into the roof.

I've got a similar story, except it's a move from a flat to a house on the same property.

On the up side, the new distance should be less than the current install, but it would still mean I need to pull the fibre cable back through the underground tubing, and then feed it through some new tubing.

Probably best just to get the ISP to move it?

Not worth doing yourself - risk of damage is fairly high. Contact your ISP - who will then in tun request a re-installation for the respective fibre network. Just know they will likely charge you a full install fee - which varies by fibre network but is generally R1500ex and up.

For that money, you may as well install a mesh network instead.

Or just run a cable between the two places for much cheaper.

Thanks - possible although distance is on the limit of a lan cable at about 100m, and means leaving modem outside my control.

Fek sakes, I've been on Vodacom since beginning of March to move this line. 4 Months! They can't figure out how it can be an outdoor move without an address change. Blows their minds.
They keep closing the ticket saying complete, and then I "need to wait a month" each time they open another.
