OK, So I upgraded from 10Mbps to 20Mbps.

Had internet working on my Netgear DGN2200v4 but I got a VDSL modem now for the upload speed boost. Now I'm not sure if I have it setup wrong or something but it's still on ADSL. I have the ZyXel SBG3300-N modem router and am using VOX as my ISP. Upload speed is still 1Mbps..

I'm wondering if it's not actually VDSL at all! They said it was, so...

Sync mode is still locked to ADSL on Telkom's side. Try contact Telkom or the ISP which manages your line to change sync mode.

20 Mbps will work on adsl2/+ :) depends on the dslam it myst be either set to adsl 2 or vdsl..

you need to change your profile to VDSL if your line with Telkom send a pm to telkomza he sorted mine out, also with the zyxel 3300 the line sync light changes orange when you are on VDSL

Thanks, I called Telkom yesterday and the woman said that yes it is on ADSL and she doesn't know why they didn't select VDSL. Then she said I must wait as the order is not marked as complete...

Setup your VDSL profile and mark it as active, leave the adsl profile active also. Then mail TelkomZA and ask him to do the change for you. I have the same router and called the call centre more than 20 times literally and then didnt understand what I needed. TelkomZa did the change and automatically it went to VDSL.

Thanks, I PM'd him to see what he can do. But I'm not hopeful as I think Telkom (not TelkomZA) don't know what they're doing/saying. My line's max is 20Mbps but I don't think it's VDSL like they told me.

Usually if the DSL Checker shows a max of 20mbps in your area it implies you will be on ADSL connected to a IMAX. And if it shows 40mbps in your area you will be connected to a ISAM/MSAN which would be VDSL.
