Allright guys (and those Gals who are scary hairy :D) Its upon us again ... The month of Movember ...

So I am all for this cause, which supports cancer and other health issues that affect men. Being a recent cancer surviver (still in remission - 18 months now) I have decided to attempt a Mo (at the disgust of my wife and her firmly clamped legs for the next month  :D ). Personally I cant grow much, Radiation screwed me there a bit, not to mention I have never been a hairy bugger to begin with! But what the hell .. its all for a great cause...

So go register at the official Movember webpage: http://za.movember.com and lets the fuzz begin!

Congrats on getting through what you have, i really respect you for that!

On another note, this is the 1st year i will be sporting my MOvember :D

I can't grow a mo even if my life depnded on it, the hairs grows and tickles my nose (hate). I do however have a nice thick beard going so I'll just keep growing that instead :p

I just dropped my 'tache last weekend. Feels weird not having one. Will re-do it for Movember though.
It takes some getting used to the tickling thing though.

Already got a little bit stubble going. As a scientist whose main research area is cancer research (drug discovery and development) this is definitely worth it. It is events like these that help provide money researchers can apply for :).

Go for it guys!

I will grow my Mo again this year. Will do some handle bars!

However, I have honestly not really seen any real "cancer awareness" as a result of Movember. Most people don't ask about it, and the few that do know what its about don't get checked up or even donate to the cause. Quite Sad.

Does a full beard also count, most guys look kaaaaaaaaak with a mustache only (myself included:D)

LOL ... I think you are not allowed anything other than the "Mo" ... and yes, agreed it looks pretty kuk! But then again, so does not having half the hair on your head from radiation therapy .... ;)

You can donate on the Movember webpage. So if anyone wants... Even I donated (after spending plenty enough on cancer myself ... lol)

Love Movember.

Only time of the year I can get away with growing some seriously corny facial hair.

I'm sorry but if you have any facial hair other than a moustache in November I will spit on you in the street. It's not meant to look cool it's a brotherhood.

My Mo has started, I have roped in my two brothers, father & cousin to do it too... we gonna take a pic of all of us on the 30th, frame it and give it to my uncle who is currently going through cancer.... as a show of moral support ;)
