Red - 7/10 - was entertaining and fun to watch
Life as we know it - 8/10 - Perfect date night movie (by this I'm implying married people taking time from the kids :) ).
 
The Machinist - 7.5/10 - dark film with a few wtf moments but gripping & entertaining nonetheless. Very Fight Club-esque

Eastern Promises 6/10

Russian mafia film. Rather standard affair with a few seriously disturbing scenes thrown in for good measure
 
Full Metal Jacket 7/10
left me a bit disappointed after the other Vietnam films I have seen

thats no excuse when movies Like the Great Escape where made in 1963, platoon 1986, Terminator 1984, star wars 1983 and before. etc, (I could go on)
 
I watched a Vietnam movie today called Jacknife on DSTV. Very good film I've seen before with Robert De Niro and Ed Harris putting in excellent performances.

IMO The Deer Hunter is the best Vietnam film. Gardens of Stone is another quality film about that war.

Dead President's was the 'ghetto' version of The Deer Hunter and is right up there with the best of them.
Technically though,nothing comes close to Saving Private Ryan.

Battle LA:6/10.The American marine cliche's borrowed straight from Black Hawk Down and many others,really spoils this movie.

Got Jacknife on dvd for free when we purchased our first dvd player about 10 years ago. Never even opened the dvd case, maybe its time to watch the movie.

Watch it. Just don't expect any action. It was on Mnet Stars to give you an idea of what type of film it is.

Watched an oldie today. Dog Day Afternoon with a young Al Pacino. Damn truth truly is stranger than fiction :wtf:
 
I spit on your grave - 3/10. Luckily I only started as the rape scene was ending. Otherwise it would've been 2 points less.
 
Drive Angry - 2/10 - load of crap... can't believe I wasted time watching it.
