Yeah, unfortunately John Carter was not a box office success, and was in fact a flop money wise, so that's why there were no sequels, I loved it though.

Along with Battleship, it contributed to the end of Taylor Kitsch's push as a leading actor.

Nevertheless, I also enjoyed it. And I also enjoyed Battleship for what it was.
