Anyone here knows any "reliable" isp's? I have been with WA for a couple of years, but with all honesty...these guys are getting worse by the day :(
If they could at least RESPOND I would be happy...

I'm happy with Afrihost and it's half the price of WA. I know WA is planning new packages in March, but it's not March yet.

Asking webafrica for reliable ADSL is basically asking Telkom to be reliable

Asking Afrihost to be reliable mean asking Telkom and Internet Solutions to be reliable.

Reliability really isn't up to Webafrica or Afrihost.

What most ISP's lack, is support. It's 100% understandable that sh-t can happen, by all means...but at least LET PPL KNOW!!!
Thanks for all the replies guys...now i'm even MORE confused...lol

WA runs their own network, nothing to do with Telkom, though they must be getting their international capacity from SAIX or something.

i beg to differ I love afrihost was considering moving to g-connect but I love the service I get from Afrihost. I can email them at 2 in the morning and with in 20 min I get a reply and majority of the time the issue is sorted

Of their own infrastructure.... it is perfectly reasonable to ask it of them (ISP's). Take into consideration how reliable their AAA systems are, this was a major gripe I had with Cybersmart, and occasionally WebAfrica too.

Well i have also had my troubles with webafrica and have also left them but like most things in life you only realise the grass is greener on the other side because theres more manure on it. Just kick up a storm and give them a chance to correct whatever the problem is.

I've heard from lots of friends that WA is growing, with growth comes issues... issues where they don't reply to people, or take long to reply, they obviously getting busier now, but they must adjust, they have a good image, they must keep it up.

True...Maybe i just jumped the gun a little. Thing is i have a website located in the USA (via WA) and most of my customers is awake when we (here in SA) are asleep...and that was exactly the time my site was off.

Hi Robin Hood

Thank you for raising your concerns.

We experienced a US Data Centre outage last night between 8.30pm - 9.30pm, which has been resolved. I do apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you and your business.

We have a status page on our website, http://www.webafrica.co.za/status, where current issues, planned maintenance and resolved issues are posted. We do update this page as regular as possible with information pertaining to the current issues.

Please PM me any outstanding queries you might have and I will gladly assist you further.

While we on the subject , last month i cancelled my one data account with them and found they automatically cancelled my other accounts as well , i phoned the accounts dep and asked why they cancelled my other accounts which i didnt ask to be cancelled .They fixed the problem by enabling them again , then when end of the month came along the other accounts were cancelled again , very frustrating , luckily i wasnt using those prepaid accounts at the time , i havent bothered enabling them again sigh
