Have an issue with BI as it is not truly unshaped, TRL's offer seems much better on the throughput side - ask TRL for a test account to confirm.

I'm tired of these greedy local ISP's with their "Silver", "Gold and "Platinum" crap - any excuse to squeeze the consumer for a few extra $.

I do a Google search of their site and if those three terms appear, I stay clear - of the bull****.

I'm not sure if I can make this anymore clear. Yes, the issues experienced are frustrating and do cause issues, however this is not our own network that is affected. Our network is running fine, its an international based cable that we're waiting on repairs. Something that is a little bit out of our hands.

As a comparison, ISP's who use SEACOM are also affected when that cable goes down - doesn't mean that their networks are broken either.

We're running at our normal capacities, and have been for a few days now.

They offer unshaped bandwidth from Cybersmart and is not an ISP, but a reseller (read my post) - as for the Altech advert, this is a far better option than WA's R 1 500.00 "2 Mbps uncapped" offering at a quarter of the price.

Telkom is going to launch satelitte Access internet next year...

Telkom have said a lot of things and been delayed so I wouldn't take that launch date as cast in stone

I don't think people will dispute what you are saying but the fact of the matter is that people are experiencing better latency and internet experience via their secondary accounts at the moment (me included). I used to have an Mweb uncapped account and used Web Africa as my secondary account but we were getting such good latency etc from Web Africa that we decided to cancel our Mweb account and move over totally to Web Africa. since them we have had nothing but issues (not all of it is Web Africa problem as some of it was our line with Telkom). Now with this problem with the cabling I am getting better latency and gaming experience on my new secondary account with Afrihost. It still bombs out some times and I get high pings occasionally but nowhere as bad as Web Africa at the moment, which is basically unplayable.

Apparently the problem should be resolved today with the cable so I will just be holding thumbs at the moment.

I am not waiting for wireless. It was a point I was making. I'm a gamer and when wireless can offer the same latency/speeds with consistency as cable at a decent price then I may consider it as an option

Well i don't think that moving from Webafrica is going to change things. As Jeff has stated the problem is not their network, but a cable fault in Europe. so thos Cybersmart/TRL and Afrihost fanbois can go and bash somewhere else.

I am confident that you will see some exciting things from them in the next 6 months though.
