selling your soul is the same as S.A. and i hope you asked him to pay your internet bills because selling your soul is the only way you can afford!

and i hope you not WHITE because the government is super racist against white people and blame us continually for our past.

also the government plans to kill all white people after mandela dies.....

other than that and crime and just about everything else, welcome to paradise:D

Not true. Mandela will continue as an Avatar - its written in the law :D

OK

Get a Telkom 4096kbps ADSL Line (without modem & Telkom ISP) then you won't be stuck in a 24month contract!

However you need a Telkom Phone Line to receive the ADSL service. Which Telkom bill you R152.00 P/M for the phone line and then R413.00 P/M for the ADSL access portion.

Total payable to Telkom Every month excluding calls is R565.00 (excluding calls)

And you can cancel anything at anytime as you must not sign a contract with telkom.

Order your line and ADSL online at here

Choose self install or you will be charged R543.19 for a Someone to come and plug a modem in for you!!

Next go to a computer shop and buy any ADSL modem you like. Just remeber you need POTS Filters for every device that you plug into the Phone Line(wall Jack). NOT THE ADSL MODEM!

Now go to Afrihost's website and sign up for them to be your ISP. http://www.afrihost.com/
You will be emailed a Username and Password which you place in your ADSL Modem/Router you bought,

Now once your connect everything and the ADSL modem Sync's with the exchange (solid ADSL Light on the Router) got to http://www.telkom.co.za/verifyadsl

Enter your phone number and Ref Number given to you by Telkom over the phone (make sure you ask for the Ref Number it is usaually a 5/6 digit number looking like this "XXXXX-24")

If you don't verify your line the ADSL will not work!!!

Hope that helps:whistle:

i gather you're quite a jet-setter? not sure but i think telkom wants an s.a bank account or an id number. do you have either?

AHHAHAAH :D

Main point been missed out: If internet connection is very important for you (professional requirement, etc), then choose a house where they have phone lines and have coverage. It is known that Telkom not always provide town-houses/villages or have bad coverage (long distance from exchange and/or old exchanges), otherwise you will be fine.

if only it were a joke. do some reading up on past news if you dont believe me or even type in South African genocide on google:(

I think your rant is too late. The OP has already decided to come to SA and requires assistance with an internet connection.

So let us show that there are some friendly, helpful folks in SA and provide assistance.

Iron man... I don't know where you from. Or if you ever have been out of SA.
But I'm coming in SA since I was 14 yo (now 35 yo)... never ever happend to me. NOT ONCE. Not a bad episode.
Trust me, SA is a nice place. Yes maybe a little too far in technology from the croud "cool" Europe or USA. But belive me, is a great palce.

My city is the hell.
Organized crime have the power.
Last year we had the best homicides record in the world.
They (crime) make bread with wood stolen from the USED coffin, collect and disposal of toxic waste across all Europe... in field where the mozzarella's buffalos eat.
... and I can go on for hours.
Belive me, SA is just a normal country.

i hope after your internet is sorted, you'll continue to be a member of mybroadband. the people here have their bad days but you'll soon notice that we look after our own

enjoy your stay man:)

edit: just saw you posted a you tube video. unfortunately i am capped so i'll have a look at the beginning of the new month

Fabfiles just out of interest what city and country are you from and what convinced you to move here?

I see you already have been given good internet advice ;)

Lol I know what you mean Fabfiles, I'm 22 I took my coworker for a walk in the city and when we got back in the office he phoned his buddies and said that he survived a walk in the city.

People always have something to complain about with SA but they probably havent ever left and visited other countries.

Ive lived in London half my life and believe me, SA is an awesome country.

Now could we maybe stop derailing this thread? If you wanna discuss further, start a new thread
