Whats the best way to move desktop computers long distance?
I'm planning on sticking them in my car and driving them down.

I think I will take out all the hdd's and wrap them all in bubble wrap for the trip tho. Will that be enough? do I need to worry about my other hardware?

lay the tower flat with the motherboard and drive at the bottom. Pad the monitors with soft padding to protect screens (better if you can box it. How many pc's are we talking about?

When you switch off your PC/laptop, the hard drives should automatically park their heads, meaning they should be fairly safe for travel - as long as you don't drop the hard drives onto the ground where they hit the ground at a high impact.

Just put the things in your boot and drive. If you are still concerned wrap them in a blanket or two.

I've moved my desktop in the back of my car thousands of kilometres without hassle. Upright, on the floor, wedged between my front and backseats.

This is my way. Perfect for one PC. Inside boot you need to secure it in place (somehow) to prevent movement when braking.

I put it behind driver seat, then move seat back. In smaller cars it blocks completely any movement. In bigger cars back seat cushion reduces bumping.
