Moving to a new ISP

I am with afrihost at this stage and for the last few months I have been having speed issues with my line.

I am on a 4mb line but can only stream on YouTube on 360P there is no chance of hugher quality. My downloads take forever and gaming online seems to be terrible lately.

I am looking at moving to crystalweb 4mb uncapped.

How is gaming on their lines and streaming? I use XBMC to stream series and movies and use about 90GB a month.

Let me know please and only if you are with crystalweb.

I'm with WA who are on the same backbone (IS) as CW, and streaming has been excellent at both ISP's - CW also advertise streaming and gaming priority on their site.
 
I'm with crystal web uncapped premium -(ex Afrihost Customer) Also have 2 accounts currently with Vox, 5TB Capped Telkom Internet and Webafrica - Crystal Web is by far the best I've used, Streaming is the best on their network, I set my downloads to run after midnight and couldn't be happier with the performance during day time on gaming, streaming and browsing etc.
 
With Crystal Web, Streaming and Gaming always excellent, with downloads from midnight to 8am(ish) usually flooring my line.

With that usage maybe even a capped option is considerable?
 
Hey guys. Im in Cape Town. looking to install adsl. Not sure which isp to go with. Was considering Mweb. Im gonna use internet for live streaming football anf other sports. Will download a few torrents aswel. So my Question is. Is Crystal Web a good isp to go for when living in cape town?

How much is that 5 TB account?

I'm on Afrihost 2mb Business uncapped and stream 720p no problem buffer free (hitting 300GB a month is also not uncommon). If you're on the home product, have you considered the business option? Just throwing it out there....

If you look at the AH business thread you will see some of the users are also having issues.
 
My brother is hooked up with Mweb. Yesterday he want to show me a video on YouTube and at a Quality of 360p the video had to buff after playing for only about 10 seconds and that happened about 3 or 4 times in a minute. So Im not too sure about mweb as im gonna use Internet to live stream

If you look at the amount of customers Afrihost has and the amount of people that complain on the forum, you'll soon see that there are more happy than unhappy people. I'm not saying there are zero problems, but people are more likely to complain than praise.

From my perspective there was only once -beginning last year - that there were a few minor niggles. Aside from that, Afrihost has been stellar. So, if the OP hasn't tried business, I was just suggesting that he give it a thought -because there's no comparison between the home vs the business products. (And plus, it would just be a quick and easy change...and if it still sucked, he could then make a move :) )
 
I have tried both home and business and no difference, they always ask for trace routes and nothing comes from it. So I will look at a different ISP. I must also say that if their lines work they work well and I dont have an issue with them but for a 40GB game to download over a week.
 
Also to add I am on a capped package and my line speeds fluctuates between 3.4mbps and 0.5mbps

Well then, if it's not working for you, it's time to make a move. ;)
(You didn't mention any of this in your original post, so -like I said - I thought I'd throw it out there :) )
 
No worries. I do really like them but as streaming is our TV source it kinda suck that I have to move but I cant take it no longer
 
So, the guys on CW can more of you maybe let me know what your experience is on the packages?
