Moving to a new ISP

So, the guys on CW can more of you maybe let me know what your experience is on the packages?
4Mbps uncapped excellent experience.
Also was on their Business capped account. That was also great, but with 2 PS4's and 2 PS3's the uncapped suits me better.

Which will be bettet, the normal 4MB uncapped account or the 2MB business uncapped?

I am currently in the same boat, moving away from Afrihost because I am pulling my hair out. Since moving your DSL line is a mission, I suggest that you leave the DSL line itself with Afrihost (I think it was R279pm) and then get an uncapped DSL account from Crystal Web or Web Africa (basically anyone who doesn't use the MTN backbone it seems). If you are super happy with it, then request that Afrihost return the line to Telkom, then ask the new ISP to take over it, bundle it and then "experience pure internet joy" (without Afrihost).

Contemplating on getting the mweb 4mb uncapped for R239. How does it fair ? I intend to do plenty of streaming as opposed to downloading.

I'm with crystal web uncapped premium -(ex Afrihost Customer) Also have 2 accounts currently with Vox, 5TB Capped Telkom Internet and Webafrica - Crystal Web is by far the best I've used, Streaming is the best on their network, I set my downloads to run after midnight and couldn't be happier with the performance during day time on gaming, streaming and browsing etc.
Which uncapped premium account are you using? 2 or 4mb

When moving from AH to CW how does the line get moved?

You need to ask AH to move it back to Telkom which they will complete by month's end. Thereafter we can migrate it over for you to us.

But is it not better to keep the line with telkom or do you then manage the line if moved to you

Move the line? Or change ISP account? Crystalweb told me i must just cancel my telkom internet, keep my 4meg line and sign up for their 4meg premium uncapped account since i already have a 4meg line. So how do you move you're line and how do they manage it? Im confused

Cancel your data plan with TI. Sign up for 4Mbs account with CW. Migrate DSL line to CW.

No downtime, no hassle. Just DON'T cancel the DSL line. Only data.

Just bear in mind that Telkom has changed the rules re. this quite a bit. ISP's have very little control left over your line, if any. A lot of functionality re. your Telkom line have been removed from your console at ISP's.

At the moment the only "advantage" with an ISP "managing your line" is that they sit on the phone for hours to Telkom and not you. They have no more inroads than the end user, don't be fooled. Leave your line at Telkom, you will resolve issues yourself much quicker.

Also if your line speeds struggle, first make sure it is not a congestion or other Telkom issue, before just changing ISP's.
