  • Rugged (the included silicone cover helps obviously) with a way of attatching a strap to it. This beauty has suffered accidental falls that would shatter most phones.
  • small
  • Long battery life, charging once a week is better than charging once a day as usually happens with most current phone
Your phone isn't usually one of those things.
You do get rugged phones that are within the price range though. But yeah not sure why you'd want to try find a niche item nowadays.

+1 for the Clip Sport...have had one for about 4 years and it's been great (I had an older model that lasted about 5-6 years before the audio out socket got faulty). Apart from gym and the occasional hike, it also comes in handy at parties or weekends away when there's usually a portable speaker around and you can line-in to it.

The phone is better when it comes to streaming services but I still almost never use it for music anymore.

"In this day and age" type arguments are illogical. The only rugged phones below R2k are usually faulty in either hardware but usually software..... HORRIBLE software. And they have terrible battery lifetimes.
