Nelson Mandela felt so betrayed by Tony Blair's decision to join the invasion of Iraq that he made a furious phone call to a UK minister to protest.

always nice to clear up someone's garden, but leave yours nice fertilized.

Blast? What happened to "slam"?

Blair was just assisting the US in protecting their way of live ...

I thought he had "retired" by then

Mr Hain said the criticisms were made formally, not in a private capacity.

He said: "He rang me up when I was a cabinet minister in 2003, after the invasion."

Mr Nelson Mandela he thinks he is the king of South Africa or what? How dare he phoned to the other country's cabinet minister for a "formal" condemnation?

Or Mr Hain he must be a liar ........

Two things here:

1. Hains is just using Mandela to sell his book.. IMO
2. Mandela should have known that making money over war outranks peace & goodwill in the eye's of the US & UK.

And I don't think Mandela made enough about it... as I don't remember much public condemnation.. and whats a phone call ?

Hau.. eish.. Baas Blair, you cant take the guns to Iraq! .. 'Oh Mandela, why on earth not?' - 'Eish.. I am making lots of monees selling the G5 cannons and tings to Saddam, he is buying lots from South Africa - We even organised an Oil-for-food scam that the UN cant even see!'

LOL, I thought the same thing when reading the title.

At least that's what the people who worships Mandela say, when asked why is he quiet about Mugabe or Malema.

Just watch how people will jump to the defence of their demigod in this thread.
