I am so strapped for time right now, that I thought I'd turn to your wonderful selves for help :)

How much does MS Office 2007 Standard go for? Is it the same price everywhere, or does pricing differ? In the event of the latter, where would you suggest I get it from? Currently based in Jhb.
Please post links if you're suggesting where I get it from.

I am looking to get this rather urgently, ie before the end of the week. Assistance appreciated. :)

It differs, from 600 for Home Student to 2500 for Pro, ex VAT. Where you based? If you in JHB you can pick one up from one of our suppliers at cost.... PM me.

There is no office STD.

Home and student
Basic
Small Business
Professional

I've got a friend who is selling his Technet Direct Plus account with 9 months left for $150 and you get 10 licenses for each Microsoft product, i.e. Office, XP, Vista and 7(When it is released on 6th August), so that would be more change than you asked for.

/Edit: I got an invite to the Office 2010 Technical Preview from MS, so I'll see how this is better than 2007.

That's demo software, and can only be used by a single user, for testing. There is no way that it would be legal to run Technet Software in a commercial environment :)

What do you mean "Technet" software and it being "demos"? It is only for a single use but it is still a bargain, basically a win-win situation.

One of the benefits of Technet is that you get fully functional MS test software (Office, Windows etc) with no time restrictions, i.e. its different from a Beta, or time limited demo that you can download from their website.

The software can only legally be used for testing, in a test environment, so using it on your laptop would be illegal - in which case you may as well download the software from a torrent and save $150....

Well think about it, aren't we all "testing" Microsoft's products, like i.e. me testing how successful DRM can tick me off on Windows.
