Hi

I have recently installed a NOVATEL express|34 3G modem. I am able to connect but as soon as I open up EXPLORER or MOZILLA, a window pops up and says:

MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ RUNTIME LIBRARY.

BUFFER OVERRUN DETECTED.

THIS PROGRAM HAS ENCOUNTERED AND ERROR....AND WILL NOW TERMINATE

As soon as I click ok to close the error message, the vodacom tray icon disappears, but the modem remains connected to the internet - problem is that i can disconnect or reconnect with out rebooting ? (and then it starts all over again)

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

What version of the VMC are you using on which OS?

Im running the latest versions of firefox as well as IE.

I installed the vodafone software that came with the modem VMC version 9.1. and I am running windows XP pro SP3

I have discovered that i get this error wih out opening any browsers, it pops up a few minutes after I have connected.

Laptop was updated yesterday, still getting the same error

Switch to Mobile Partner its ten times better.

@semaphore--->

What's mobile partner, will it work with a vodacom 3G account??

Could you give me some more info please

Just googled MOBILE PARTNER, seems like its ony for Huawei modems, I have a NOVATEL merlin U860

Try the latest version of VMC from the Vodacom download page otherwise does the Novatel Generic Mobilink software not work for you?
