so i bought this mouse for my laptop on 2nd july from incredible corruption as it was on special for R200.

Though was good deal saying up to 8 month battery life on the box, of course i though be at least get 4months out of it.

seems you cant mine died last week, comes with Duracell battery and replaced with generic to see if it was battery, because was randomly disconnecting and it was now generic one is also dying :/

so was wondering is it normal for this mouse to eat battery's like this? I switch it off at night when i go to sleep, and use the laptop at night for 4 hours to browse etc, so its not on use all the time , as sits next to my desktop.

on weekends its mostly on all the time.

Thanx , hope someone with this mouse can shed some light on this issue.

I've got a MS Bluetooth mouse for my notebook. It would disconnect at random times so I also tried new batteries. Didn't help so I took it back and they swapped it out - problem solved.

I have a cheap Logitech wireless mouse for my desktop and it stays on all day every day and uses rechargeable batteries, I get a good 3 months out of it. I would take it back if I were you.

yeah was going to buy wired, but this baby fits my hands so nicely , was thinking it will be nice for my laptop :P

ok i will take it back to them, hope they refund me :/

Logitech M215 FTW. Bought mine in April and with daily use of +-5 hours the battery is still good (Same battery it came with, Duracell). Half the price of your Microsoft as well.

I have the MS Wireless 1025 mouse (with my 1000 series keyboard), and it used to go through normal batteries (2 at a time) like there's no tomorrow - I changed to re-chargeable batteries, now using the UNiROSS AA 2700 Ni-MH and they work perfectly. I bought a pack of 4, with the charger, and I'm still on the first 2 after 3 months...used at least 2-4 hours a day.

BTW, I have a Rapoo Blue light wireless mouse I use on my laptop for work (takes 1 battery), and also started using these UNiROSS re-chargeable batteries - they last about 1.5-2 months at a time, for an 8-hour daily usage period...

Yep, depends on the batteries you are using.
