Hi all,

So im trying my best to overclock my hawk, however the most stable clock i can get is at 960mhz core, 1150 mhz memory with a 1.270 voltage.

My problem lies with how much higher it should go. Eg: reviews show it at 1000mhz core, 1150mhz memory with voltage only at 1.250.

Why cant i get there? i get atrifacts with anything higher than what i stated.

HELP please.

Just like CPUs, individual GPU chips differ in their overclocking ability due to unavoidable manufacturing variations. You may just have a chip that is stable at a maximum of 960mhz. After all, these chips are selected for their ability to run at lower speeds, and even the binned chips in many non-reference factory-overclocked graphics cards don't guarantee top overlocking potential.

Artifacts are a heat and speed issue, perhaps just getting too hot from your 1.27V, have you tried 1.25V at 1000Mhz?

Else, what Rudimental said.

the new ones oc not that good, if you have new one there stock clock is 900mhz and not 930mhz, also the product code on the box of the new one is R6870 hawk/std old one is R6870 hawk.

my new one only did 975 where my old one does 1030 core.

It was clocked at 930 mhz core, but on the box it does state HAWK / STD. if i drop the voltage i get more artifacts sadly. in general i see these cards going higher easily. Could this not be driver related? i heard that can affect your overclocking ability. At my max oc my card hits 75 degrees max at 75% fan speed.
