Do they have proof that they were going to test some of their explosives in any black township or are they just assuming that because they may be affiliated with a righting group?

What townships do you know of that aren't predominantly black? They seem to have sourced their information from right wing/anti SA websites (wouldn't be my first pick for information but hey) so I'm assuming they've got something in for them.

Firstly - There are many predominately coloured townships.
Secondly - I hope they have proof that they were going actually going to plant the bombs in the townships. I mean they could have assumed that because they were associated with a right wing and they had a bomb they must of course go and plant it in a township.

I think that the report should definitely have included some "allegedly"'s as there is no concrete proof right?

Exactly - and not to forget it was announced at a budget speech? WTF is up with that - maximum exposure?
Sounds like yet another attempt to divert attention from the real issues.

South African police have broken up a plot by white supremacists to plant explosives in black townships, the police minister said on Thursday, just a month after the murder of a prominent white separatist.

Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa also promised that extremists would not be allowed to disrupt the Fifa World Cup, which is due to start in June and expected to draw 300 000 foreign visitors.

Sixteen years after the end of apartheid, the country still struggles to overcome racial divisions, especially in rural communities.

Tensions rose again last month when Eugene Terre'Blanche was murdered on his farm after an apparent wage dispute with workers. Members of his Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB) initially made threats of revenge that they later retracted.


"Police swept in a number of areas and some of the people had caches of arms and ammunition, paraphernalia," Mthethwa told reporters about raids last month.

"In Pretoria, for instance, some of the people that were arrested were planning to go test some of that explosives in any black township," Mthethwa said.

Mthethwa, who declined to provide details of how many people were arrested or their intended targets, said some were believers in a whites-only "volkstaat", or republic.

In 2002, then-president Thabo Mbeki blamed extremists for 10 bomb blasts that killed a woman and wounded two others.

Mthethwa said the extremists were not a threat to the state and there would be no disruptions to the World Cup.

but yeah, in my experience of people this story does sound likely. it probably isn't the AWB or suidlanders this time, but there are a few jappies that will want to take revenge for ET's death. i mean racists are basically looking for any excuse to kill others.
 
Since we're getting all tinfoil hat with conspiracy theories, I've heard that there is also a conspiracy to kill the white farmers in South Africa. I've heard rumours about songs being sung that advocate the killing of farmers and the flagrant use of AK-47s being sung at large gatherings of these alleged revolutionary freedom fighters.

Mthethwa made the startling revelation to the media shortly before delivering his budget vote in Parliament.

He says police officers found an arms cache meant to be used in these attacks on black townships but would not divulge any details.

Firstly this is the Media's view of what Mthethwa allegedly said.

Secondly how was Mthethwa to know that the arms cache existed in the first place and was not planted and allegedly belonged to some right wing people and to do what with.
It is one thing finding an arms cache which is plausible considering our history, but to say it belongs to right wing people is another.
If we had to unearth every AK47 that is hidden in our country this arms cache would pale in comparison.

Lastly, who is to say that it is not blacks who wish to rid themselves of all the illegal immigrants flooding our towns and cities. I have heard rumours that come the end of the World Cup there is going to be an escalation of xenophobia in South Africa. Don't think the repositioning of the army on our borders was for our protection, it is probably intended to keep the illegals out this time so as to appease the township voters to keep ANC cadres in power come election time.

What has anybody got to gain by blowing up or attacking a township, especially right wing people who I suppose Mthethwa must mean are white people. The only people to gain from such an event are people sick and tired of all the illegal immigrants who have secured jobs that could have been taken up by our own people.

Its amazing, these right wing inbreds are the same lot that harp on about how evil muslims and their terrorism is... yet they became white trash terrorists themselves. Classic and expected.

i can understand people's skepticism here, but i've heard people talking about this kind of thing and mentioning that ET's speeches were so empowering that they felt like going out and killing black people. it doesn't make it true, but you must understand why many people are equally skeptical of white genocide while others feel that it's a fact.

they arrested white wing fanatics a year ago who hated black people, that wouldn't even take food from them in prison. while the story is unlikely, how unlikely is it to find people who would do this? plus, on almost every racist forum there is constant mention of arms caches. i don't feel this news report is a justification for anything, just feeding the hype after Eugene's death and along with Malema's songs
 
Wow, a whole 5 people.....

I don't know but this just stinks, dono what it is yet but it smells.

2 things I need you guys need to realise:

1. The right-wing groups I know of has allot more members than just 5 (Suidlanders; AWB and so forth)
2. They don't discuss their doings and will not be caught out untill whatever they plan/ned has been done. And then only the foot soldiers who did the Job might be caught. (Boeremag)

I assume they caught a couple of white guys who had an arms stash and now put a right-wing attack spin on it.

And let's be honest with the tension in SA today, the police can just about raid every white man's house and 2/3 times they would find an arms stash somewhere :D Do they honestly think they will dissarm themselves and just roll over and play dead? But hey, that is just me.
