Can someone please please help me.

I bought an MTN 3G datacard a few months ago and everything worked well while I was still in SA.

I am now sitting in London and I just cannot get the thing to work. I have contacted the MTN helpine on a number of occasions and no-one seems to be able to help. As finally explained by someone there, the process to be followed is to enter settings/network and manually search for a local service provider. I find a number of options (Orange, Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile etc). Register with one of them (I have tried them all). "Operation Success!" a little pop up yells.

Then the problem starts - I either have very slow (0.1kbs!) connection, or some sort of connection for about 30 seconds or so, and then nothing. Connection just dies.

This has gone on for a number of days now, with a Vodafone 3G card on full 3G signal in the same room. So it cannot be signal strength.

Anyone know what to do? As I bought it for international access, does this mean my MTN 3G has been a waste of money?

Someone help, please

Good day,

It might be a good idea not to display you number here,

I've escalated this to our network control centre to investigate further

I've asked Herman from MTNSP to follow this up and to give you feedback, I'll also provide feedback on here.

Thanks MTNDD

Noted and thanks. I will also test further during the weekend

We have a pending 3G agreement with O2. We have no 3G agreement with none of the network in the UK, some are pending and some are on the test phase.

We do how ever have GPRS agreements with O2,T-Mobile (Mercury One 2 One) and Orange.........

MTN Data Dude, I take it that the E620 is a standardised card that should function the same anywhere in the world on 3G/HSDPA networks. Is it 'optimised' in any way for S.A. which would hinder performance abroad? Thanks!
