1) Who do you support locally?

2) Do you think it is a success?

3) Will ODIs go this route?

1) Titans

2) I like it as it has a much smaller "mid-boring" section. I really do not prefer ODIs over the 40 over format but I also do not prefer the 40 over format over normal ODIs. I do however think that this format will find more fans as most people are there to see the batsman, not the bowler.

3) I believe we might see some of the 40 over game's rules implicated into the ODI game (subs, less overs, more power playes, etc etc) if the ODI game does not change to this.

1- Dolphins

2- Honestly i think its rather pointless

3- No, it offers no value apart from "entertainment", which T20 owns all the rights to.

didnt they test the subs thing for a while and scrapped it?

i think 3 powerplays are more that enough

1) Warriors, yes I know they never win, but I'm still there supporting.

2) No, it hasn't really increased crowd numbers, and I don't think that this format helps the players skills.

3) I hope not, espically not the subs rule, I hated that rule when it was in a few years back, it's 'just not cricket'. If they really feel that ODIs aren't working I'd rather that they drop ODIs and just focus on Pro 20s and Test Cricket.

For local cricket I would rather see a single round robin of MTN Championship games as full (50 over) ODIs. They should play them on Saterdays and Sundays and run concurrently with the Pro 20 series, over a double round robin. So teams could play Pro 20s on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and then every second week have an ODI on weekends. I know it might seem messed up, but I'm sure that someone could work out a decent shedule. Just my thoughts.

Glad someone likes the idea. As for the Warriors, I know they are good, but the manage to stuff up every year. PE hasn't won a cricket trophy since 1993 :wtf:.

2. I do think it's a success, but still prefer Pro20.
3. Nah, but if anything, it should change to Pro20, Pro20 is amazing to watch!

I do like Pro20.
I love it, it's really, especially the SB Pro20 and the other "Indian" one, they make it so much fun! :)

1.Titans.
2.Yes, been very exciting.
3.Yes. I remember people mentiong this to Ian Botham during the england tour and was thrilled with the concept. Reckons something has to be done to odi's and thinks this is a good idea.

The subs rule didn't work previously because you had to announce your sub before the toss. In pro40 its a rolling sub so you can introduce him and swap during various phases of the game.

I do not have DSTV.

I used to watch golf, tennis, F1, cricket, rugby on SABC. Now it has moved, and I get to watch delayed rugby matches, and international cricket @ home.
I support the Dolphins ( and the Sharks and Ferrari) but I have not watched a single match in years. Occasionally I get to watch champions League soccer on ETV.

I know I need to go to live games to watch these tournaments, but it would be nice if the sponsors stopped pumping money into the dead end bafana, and the cricket and rugby boards stop selling out to paytv. Because less of us are watching.

I sooooo miss the B&H format of local day night matches. T40? The stadiums won't get full, because the sport has lost it's viewership on free to air tv. Although I will concede it does compete with international cricket.

Think I'll go watch the Dolphins vs Titans at Centurion this weekend.

It could be interesting as the titans finished top of the log but the dolphins won the last game between these two sides :)

Yay, Warriors get to host the final! But it's in East London . I go to every game in PE, and was really looking forward to the final, but now it's going to EL, who average 2 000 people per game. :wtf: If the game was on Saturday or Sunday I'd drive up to EL, but there's no way I can go on Friday. :crying:

1. Titans (Noord Transvaal/Gauteng patriotism :D)
2.its not much different from 50 over ODI to be honest.
3.Odi's will eventually get smaller, in the end it will either be T20 or Test Cricket.

When was the last time the dolphins won anything, it must be a good couple of years, maybe this is their year. I gotto agree, the 40 over thing is not so revolutionary as the ads claim them to be, the domestic league was 45 over anyway so knocking off 5 overs does not make such a big difference.
