So im due for upgrade in 3 weeks.

been out of the phone loop for a while. Had an Omnia, that was cool to start, but never really grew on me, and for like the last 8 months have been using a BB 8520.

seems like my options are X10, HTC desire, BB9700 ?

whats out there ?

the omnia touch irritated me though :/ has it improved a lot ?

i got the htc legend.. basically a desire with a slightly slower processor in a smaller package

Of the ones listed there I would go for the BB9700. I know someone who recently got one & is very happy with it. Personally i dont like touch screen phones. I can type faster if there's buttons than a touch screen when sending messages.

I am due for an upgrade from today. But I am on Anytime 200 package.....Not a lot of phones I want form MTN on this package.....

Was at MTN Menlyn and the "new" list is due any day now (hopefully) wait and see before you regret it.

Upgraded a few weeks ago, got the BB9700 on MTN 200... really great phone!! If you want to be connected to gtalk, facebook 24/7 this is really the phone for you!! And as a pirk, it has no touch screen :) Had a Tytn II before, not so fond of the touch screen, I think the feeling is mutual on Gumtree as no one wants to buy the Tytn II :) Hahaha :)

Anyway, go for the BB9700, you will not be sorry!!

The Desire is awesome, I have one myself and am very happy with it.

The latest gen of touchscreens are miles ahead of what was out 2/3 years ago - Capacative >> resistive. And to be honest I can type faster on my desire than I could on my my old E61, the keyboard is very well implemented and the predictive text is great. If you spend any significant amount of time browsing the internet on your phone, you definitely want an android :D The google integration is also really good, I almost never go into any of the web clients anymore, it is quicker and easier to do things off my phone.
