MTN 5G is here - Prices and coverage

Why does it cost more than LTE when I thought 5g was all about getting more data and being able to handle congestion better?

Look MTN gives you when they lock you into a 24-month contract that either throttles you or provides subpar service (only for you to realize your stuck for the next 23 months)

With mobile you can just never win. Handles it better ... yes.... eliminates the problem. .... absolutely not. Need to get the frekking SABC off the airwaves pronto!!!!!

24 / 36 month contracts still???

Still stuck in the 90/2000s.

My question might be dumb but lets say you sign up for 24 months or 36 months contract right, and government take away their temp spectrum and delays the auction fot the permanent spectrum, what happens then?

None of them cant evens do 3g or 4g properly and now they wanna do 5g. Build more towers to accommodate everyone or to free tower congestion asswipes. Once those towers get full your wonderful 5G will be throttled to 4g speeds. What is the use? BUILD TOWERS and I will be happy with my 4G speeds. 4G uncapped and no FUP and 80mbs D /40mbs U, that's all I want.

-None in Durban, but Free State gets.
-Low cap numbers on data with 100 to 500 GB makes no sense
-smallest coverage in that area
-contract based
-uncapped has FUP...

Yeah this is even worse than my expectations, and they were low. I still think mtn has one of the best networks though.

"MTN 5G is here - and why you should Avoid it" would have been more contextual.
For once Bloem gets something before Durban...be happy for those sad Bloem people for once...they have crappy winters and no ocean compared to Durban, at least now they can can get MTN 5G...
