So MTN just quietly removed MGN Pay per second 79c per minute price plan.

So new prepaid and Afrihost mobile customers will no longer pay 79c per minute.

Wow last I read about it they made it permanent...

Not in the ussd menu or the 141 voice guided menu. Checked on 2 sims all the same. Only 3 price plans available.

MTN Zone per second
MTN Base
MTN Pulse

So everyone on Pay per second 79c should be able to stay on it but not sure for how long :(

I'm on 60c pay per second. Hopefully they won't force me to change ever...unless cheaper.

My main SIM is on 1c per second plan, since 2014. If something happen, it will magically change to SIMSonke.

This is a big shocker. Moved to mtn afrihost and expected this plan ...now nothing?? Yet mtn website still showing active

Yeah it's gone. You have to buy signature bundles. It effectively gives you a lower rate than the 60c per minute price plan but yeah sucks.

Dear customer, MTN would like to notify you that as of 23 March, your MTN Talk Free calls to other networks will change from R0.79 to R1.20. T&Cs Apply.

MTN rep needs to respond in this thread. Or MyBB rep should reach out to MTN for comment.

Got my SMS today:

Dear customer, MTN would like to notify you that as of 23 March, your MTN Pay Per Second plan will change from R0.79 to R0.99 p/min for voice calls, T&Cs Apply.

I can't seem to find anything on this on their website though...

Are they insane? Their pricing will be waaaay out compared to the other networks...

Afrihost needs to adjust their airtime allocation now with this new rate

Got it as well, could it be due to the VAT hike?

As MTN t and c state they can adjust your airtime balance due to various increase?

If it was the 1% VAT increase they would not be increasing it 25%, ok?

Well MTN, guess only Vodacom will get my call making revenue, and you will just get interconnect fees from people who call me on my MTN number, tough lucks aholes...

MTN you suck.

Just got the sms about the price change - damn MTN, nice of you to not give your customer any notice, just send the sms on the day the pricing changes
