MTN 808 , uninformed staff

i just called 808 , due for an upgrade , spoke to 3 different staff members , called in 3 times , 2 staff members gave me a Retentions department number which dont exist , :mad::mad::mad:

1 staff member could not help me at all , only after the 4th call was my call directed to the retentions department , apparently Retentions do not have a call in number

Surely MTN , you can do much better , should anyone from MTN want proof , i have all the calls recorded on my Phone :D
 
MTN need to close down what ever call center they have at 808. I have never met such useless people in my life. I think I must've phoned in about 100x since my contract started in August, and not once have they helped, all I've gotten were:
1.) Lies.
2.) Incorrect information, which become my problem at the end of the month, even with a reference number o the call.
3.) The phone put down in my face, it took TWO weeks and multiple emails and complaints on hellopeter to get the person's supervisor to call me back, apparently this is considered good service.
4.) Actions to be taken on my account, and they didn't do it, or didnt know how and said I must call back again to speak to someone else.
5.) Logged a call for something to be done, and promised call back in two working days, nothing. Took three complaints on hellopeter, with them saying someone will call me to get them to call me.

I know a lot of members of my ADSL hate hellopeter, but that will be my first point of contact for MTN from now on, I'm not wasting my time with 808.

Please Pm me ure details, those staff memberrs need to be trained a bit better i would say, apologies on the ordeal you have endured.
 
Front line service is whats its ALL about.But then again MTN and VC are so big,it does not really matter to them now,does it? It will always be a money spinner....
If only someone could come in and turn these guys on their heads..

Yes, imagine if some foreign guy, who turned the record industry, the airline industry and the banking industry on its head, came over here and started a new cellular SP. Oh, wait...

Thats really not fair when you label the whole company like that, i work here and i actually do care about you guys plenty :o

He'd have to bring a boat-load of staff over with him IMHO> You can't change the workforce and their workshy attitude overnight.

Exactly, I have it here too with the people around me, to them its money in their account at the end of the month, and its something thats a right to them, not a priviledge. The mentality of the work fource in SA.
 
correct me if i am wrong Snakepit , the biggest problem with MTN and poor front line service is the fact that MTN employs mostly contract staff to do the work , this is the biggest problem with many companies ,staff go thru a crash course , dont last long under pressure and the cycle simply starts again

Yup...they told me the little ****er that hung up me was a contractor.

True plenty contractors working towards the ultimate goal of permanisation, same as I did some 5 years ago, its a pity that each apple has its worms though:(
