MTN: Additional billing.

Hi all.

Just a quick question (albeit a stupid one, perhaps...).

I have accumulated quite some airtime on my AnyTime 350 contract, and I am looking for a way to "spend it".

I was wondering if MTN will bill me additionally/separately should I buy apps, data, donate using a generic number, etc. Or, will the costs come off my current balance/airtime?

Any information would be helpful.

Not a stupid question. I would like to know the answer to that too.

I have a feeling that you can only spend the airtime on data, voice, SMS or MMS. You probably won't be able to transfer it to another number. Buying apps has nothing to do with your MTN Airtime. You have to link your Android or iOS device to a credit card, in order to purchase. Unless of course they've rolled out the service when you can purchase apps via premium-rated SMS charges. But then again, these VAS charges do not deplete your airtime, and are billed seperately.
