I see in the Yellow Trader released today the new "AirFibre" packages.
Free installation until 26 May. Month-to-month. R2000 cancellation fee if cancelled within first 12 months.
Uncapped, no FUP it seems.
Anybody signed up? Seems to have been on promo from end November already, but it wasn't in the Yellow Trader.

This doesn't make 100% sense to me either, without a FUP you're opening yourself up for abuse..
I'm busy querying, will post here once they respond.

While you're at @Voldemort please explain a bit how this works.
AFAIK MTN installs a type of high gain / microwave link that directly connects to a tower, meaning you don't share bandwidth over your "air" connection compared to normal 4G or 5G?

Hmm this might me better then the fixed LTE I have on the farm.

How does one check coverage :( street address?

I've made a new enquiry on those specifics as I'm curious too

With Supersonic being a subsidiary of MTN, I don't have readily available access to people I can just dial up, like I would with my colleagues.

Was wondering that same thing because how many of the small wisp in such a town will effect the speeds. With all their equipment.

From the T&Cs that Voldemort linked to
The installation location of the Receive Node (RN) antenna is subject to change during installation to optimize the line of sight (LOS).
Sounds very much like a microwave type link.

This is the MTN Tarana wireless thing right? I think there is a thread about Supersonic offering it before but I don't recall the prices being this good. Weren't they like 30 and then 100Mbps.

The entry level package for R499 seems like a decent price for an 80Mbps service if you compare it to fibre and fixed LTE

I might actually get it. Just not sure what tower has it. I have 2 towers covering me. 1 at the back clear LOS but the front has a lot of trees blocking LOS.

I work with Terana links when there are a fair number of guests, had no idea that these products were readily available to the public, curious...

I've had it since 2022. Here's my thread https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/how-is-supersonic-airfibre-routing.1201015/

This year I upgraded to the 300/100 package, my tower doesn't do more than 240Mbps. I enjoy the new pricing, although some of my neighbours have been denied the "upgrade" to better pricing.

Its pretty stable, with over a handful of outages over the last few years. This year, only one so far. Support is terrible though, technology amazing. The tower has a base node, and a technician will install a remote node at your place pointed at the tower. The remote node is powered via a PoE injector.
