There does seem to be a problem with MTN billing for the new AnyTime packages. I suggest you look at your statements ASAP.
A colleague of mine was overbilled by more than R800 on basic stuff and it is still trying to sort it out. My unbilled amounts seem out of order on my contract, but I am waiting for the final statement. There seem to be one or two hellopeter complaints as well.
Two things seem to happen:
1) Data bundles loaded on contracts did not kick in immediately, meaning he was billed out-of-bundle rates for a few days after loading the bundle.
2) Anytime included balance was not used for calls a few days after the start of the billing cycle, meaning people were charged out-of-bundle call rates.
MTN has acknowledged R500 of the R800 so far for my colleague, but is difficult about refunding him (after suspending his service). They still need to investigate the rest.
So I suggest anybody with a AnyTime package look at their statement and please post here if you have problems so that we can maybe get an idea of the magnitude and use group bargaining to try and sort out this mess.
