MTN Billing Problem

About a month ago upgraded my phone contract with MTN (very reluctantly I have to say after having a lot of trouble with getting my first contract with them). At the same time a changed my sms bundle from 100 to 200. Last night I get my phone account just to see that they have charged me for the sms bundle plus every sms that I sent. So I phone the call centre just to be told that my bundle wasn't activated therefore my sms's weren't allocated. Now this leaves me with my first question... How can they charge me for the sms bundle that hasn't been "activated" ??? The guy at the call centre said he'll send my query to the billing department to have the sms's allocated and my account correct… But I have to phone back in 3 - 5 day to see if the problem has been corrected... Now why must I phone back to see if it's been corrected? Shouldn't they get back to me their customer???

You will get a call from the Billing Department once your account has been worked thru.

My problem was sorted out quick but I find it amazing that a person has to come to a site like this to actually get helped!

That is why some of us help on sites like this in our own capacity.

MTN Stuffed up yet again...

Well my previous problem has been sorted out... Thanks to PitBull

And guess what... MTN has stuffed up again... not as badly as the last time though... this time they've charged me for some smses I sent but not all of them atleast...

Then you phone the call centre and get a reply that i'm paying for the smses i sent before they allocated the free minutes and sms bundles...
But shouldn't the allocations be done from the 26th of a month if thats how they charge a person???
And the funny thing about that is that on the 26th and 27th I was charged for sending a sms then on the 28th and 29th I wasn't charged and then they charged me again till about 3 april and there after not again... So how can the be a alocation thing?

Will MTN ever get the billing system right???
 
MandyF, I really feel for you. MTN is the most frustrating company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. (Even more so than Telkom). I only got any joy out of them after I went to Hellopeter. MTN caused major shyte with my bank because they charged me 3 times for the same account. Needless to say, I'm going to be taking my number and getting out of there as soon as my contract is up.

Unfortunately I upgraded my contract my contract with MTN about 2 months ago. Why I don’t know and I’m really regretting staying with them.

Since I got the pro call 1000 package from MTN(This year June), my minutes were not deducted from my free minutes but I was charged for all my calls. I have a reverence nr that I reported this All my reprts got lost or something, or send to the wrong department. I reprted this in August again.

please help.
 
Billing period is the 11th to the 11 of the following month. I received my bill for last month amounting to R117 odd. I paid R120 via internet transfer. Yesterday I was embarrased to say the least. Went to MTN SP at Clearwater Mall - I was in the area. Thought I might as well upgrade. Little did I realise that it would turn out to be such a nightmarish experience. The shop assistant was adequate, friendly and helpful. The fact that there was an outstanding amount was the problem. My question to them was, why bill me one amount and then change the billed amount AFTER the due date. They could not answer me. I then called 808. Was on line for 35 minutes ( I kid you not - check your logs - I called at 14:56 Sat 09/08/2008) I have better things to do than to hold on for THAT LONG! Motlatsi Monyake is probably the worse person to work at mtn. Her knowledge of problem solving leaves LITTLE to be desired.
I want this amount written off - your billing system does not function 100%. What will mtn do (if anything) at all - they dont really care. Except for just wanting our money.
Besides greed is an ugly sin....I am sure nobody at mtn understand the concept of service or principle.......
 
wow, pitbull, thank u so much for helping out, its so good to see, but it would be even cooler to show MTN, that this is the type of service everyone yearns for, well done, may you have a good increase next year
