hi guys is anyone also experincing down time on blackberry since last night my BB was down i called 1555 and they tell me yes and in order for it to be fix i must call in bu still not fixed ....
 
i guess some of you people Are lucky mines not working its doing the same what it was doing the last time it was down

and this is so annoying
 
My main phone has also been down the entire day :( . I'm on MTN (based in NW).. The problem is only affecting certain lines, as my brothers phone is fine... I also have a 8ta line (mtn roaming) which is working fine.
 
Mine is down, and i'm in durbs, except my Colleagues works fine.
 
I'm also still Offline :( . Currently on hold on MTN 1555 call center for the last hour..
 
Useless MTN 1555 agent, makes me try everything I already tried... Waited over 1 hour for some to answer the call :mad: .. She says the RIM issue was only affecting Prepaid & top-up customers..

I'm on contract so it's not the same issue... I'm going to try a SIM Swop now...

I asked the bloody agent to "reset" my blackberry service (bis), she says she can't & should call Accounts Dept for that..
 
MTN are bloody useless. My father and gf are experiencing the same problems. BIS is not working for them, they have tried doing battery pulls and nothing. The stupid useless monkey at MTN wont help me because I do not pass his security check (I am not the owner of the account). No **** sherlock, the owner of the account is lying in hospital!

You can try Manually, registering the device on the BIS network..

options > device > advanced system settings > host routing table > register now


*I just called the local MTNsp store and the guy told me that they just had a contract customer with the same issue, whereas the call centre claims only Prepaid customers are having issues... I'm just waiting for the guy to check my account and call me back.
 
I'm also having issues. My connection jumps from GSM to 3G with BIS service and then back to GSM. I have a MTN Topup contract.

My woman is also have the same problem and now its mine.......I mean wat can I do about it? Anyone worked out a fix for this as yet? Cause its going to break up a happy home.
 
I called the MTNsp store again, the guy say's there were another 5 or 6 people with the same issue.... He can't do anything, all we can do is wait...


Stupid MTN 1555 call centre won't acknowledge the problem is with BIS/MTN, calling them again to see if there is any updates..
 
mtn prepaid, same issue. my wifes phone stopped working yesterday afternoon and then 4 hours later mine stopped. We are in Cape Town. mtn are useless in explaining and have no idea whats wrong. wonder if RIM has fallen over again?
 
Seems to be working again. Was def down in randburg
 
Mine has been down since this morning,also been given runaround answers.
Well mtn im still waiting?
 
ttjaco, you will just have to sit it out. Mine and my wifes is still down since monday
 
Hell it's frustrating - still waiting - BIS MTN still not working

Same here, MTN should provide updates with regards to how long it will take... All the articles states "shortest period possible".

Also if the cable breaks is the reason for the outage, why are only certain customers affected ? If they using another cable for the un-affected customers, can't they move us (affected customers) onto that system ?
 
My BIS is working :)

I just tried a manual registration and it registered.

For those affected, see my post on page one on how to manually register on the BIS network.. You can also do a battery pull.
