I’m have major problem with MTN blackberry devices connecting to the office mail server via BIS.
The subscribe info and URL all go through fine, but it never registers correctly with MTN. It kind of “half” works.
The SMTP server we stipulate in our subscribe info gets ignored by MTN and they persist in using other servers like 13.c10.bise7.blackberry and srs.bis7.eu.blackberry.com – so we cannot trace their mail if they have the usual “we sent the email but it’s not working & so-and-so didn’t get it” wining.
It also does not sync correctly. When a user deletes their mail in outlook (ie off the server) it does not delete the mail off the phone, no matter how much “purging” and “reconciliation” you do on the handset. It works fine the other way round – deleting off the BB removes it from the server.
Vodacom clients are fine, which is why I doubt a Blackberry service configuration on our office mail server. Anyone else seen issues like this?
