MTN Black Friday Discussions

The R249 data only package seems incorrect, the correction SMS I got from MTN stated 20+10 GB anytime (so this is correct), but it stated 20+20 GB for night, where this table only states 20GB.

Like I said this might be right or wrong. Came from friend who own a couple of MTN stores so they might have adjusted some of the specials before official launch.
 
So you upgraded to offers that weren't available according to the SMSs you got? Did you go to a store or via call center?

Yes, I went to a MTN store with this list in hand and after some arguments and calls from the lady to the home office I got what I wanted.

that table was posted here a couple of days ago. It seems the night express on the table is incorrect
 
Was just offered the following by mtn sales
20gb day + 30gb night = R249.
60Gb day+ 60gb night = R299.
100gb day+100gb night=R469

Which call center or store? It's quite unfortunate that there's so much disparity among the different call center agents, as well as among the stores. You'd think that they'd all have the same information, but apparently not...

Emailed the agent who signed me up in 2016 - agent called me back
 
I got a call from mtn (not the branch) to offer me the upgrade. I asked her for one of the other offers and she wasn’t sure. She’ll call back after speaking to her team lead.
Got a call this afternoon too, asked them for a device option and told them what I want, line manager came onto call and said Thursday morning consultant will be in contact. Fingers crossed.
 
Just upgraded to these new deals over the phone. Agent was brilliant. Give them a call, easier than going into shops.
 
Can someone correct me if I am wrong...
I have a MyChoice BF 2016 contract that I am looking at upgrading on Friday. I am hoping there are going to be decent Phone+Sim contracts. Ive got my eye on the R199 (350min +3GBdata). I am looking at taking another Sim only contract for the wife R149 (20gb day+10gb night), and slapping on a voice booster for her. Would I be able to do a data share on the R149 contract for the gigs on that contract to my contract?

Unless we take new contracts and cancel these ones (in dec for most of us)
 
Data share should only work on non promo data

500mb or 2gb of the 2016 BF deals were allowed to be shared

this time the normal data is way more

Please enlighten me. Can the non promo data be shared with a pre-existing MTN contract number or it has to be a new number/prepaid number?

then you need to change numbers.
 
There's also no point in not waiting? Unless Friday is too hectic for some to find time to call.
 
Just got another email with 3 offers. Cant keep up with MTN and all these SMS and Email offers anymore.
