Okay so I upgraded at the beginning of this week to the following deal

R213 51gb data anytime and 100 minutes
Today MTN retentions calls and offers:

Mobile internet gold - R149
Deal code: Operator didn't want to share it
60gb data anytime - 200 minutes anytime @24 months

I asked what's the fee to upgrade, he said R232 once off. So I upgraded the upgrade lol

Sweet if you need that much mobile data, the 18 months is just weird.

This also means only 70gb can be used for data share as the 130gb is "free" data and should be excluded from data share according to datashare T&Cs

Ok thanks. I think this call centre agent( who's a 3rd party) was trying to sell me on a diffrent deal so he started with the lies . Just needed confirmation from an actual user.

I got a number 083 123 1761 but doesn't work.
083 123 3667 gets to a normal list (but not the same as 135).

I just called 135, followed the prompts for cancellations, the consultant told me he does cancellations and retentions, and offered me the retentions deal, this was on the MTN Business side, same procedure for Personal I would guess...

OK got the R256/month, 52GB anytime, 125mins one.
Waiting for the deal code. It is an MTN Extra Small, so I doubt that the datasharing will be lots.

I couldn't get the "MTN Gold" one for R149 - the deal ID wasn't found.

3rd party contract sellers are the worst - and every now and then they phone you to "migrate your contract for a better option". I almost lost my BF deal years ago when I fell for this - luckily MTN could reverse it.

On my old Business contract I was able to share data.

I also upgraded to this deal, 600GB, of which 500GB is promo so it is not shareable. The 100GB is shareable, but limited to 50GB, this is what the consultant told me. It works for me....

Yes, there are new rules to curb data sharing.

For Business deals. There's the 50G limit.

This limitation does not affect personal contracts.
