MTN Black Friday Discussions

17GB + 525 All net Minutes per month @ R160 pm (36 months)
Quite pleased with this one, thanks lads.

Assume this is a retension deal ? Think I am going to sign up for the 18 month deal 10 gigs and 500 minutes for R 299 then just get a good retension deal / upgrade next year

Yup, but unfortunately they couldn't process retentions friday. Waiting for their call today to finalize it.
Retentions are definitely the way to go this year. Black friday deals some are saying Vodacom is better this year.

Got the Mobile internet gold - R149 deal with code: 2023031 CT 00009 this morning.

On the DebiCheck Mandate an installment amount of R894 is mentioned. Where or how is this calculated? It does not seem right?

Unless DebiCheck refers to the credit amount MTN is willing to extend to?

Signed up for the Mobile Internet Gold package, but the consultant couldn't verify what data and minutes are included.
Waiting for vetting and confirmation and then I'll update

I don't understand what I could be getting on the various packages.
R249x18 Platinum : Free Anytime 10GB recurring p/m + Free Anytime 30GB recurring p/m; 30GB Anytime Data
R299x18 Ruby : Free Anytime 30GB recurring p/m + Free Anytime 100GB recurring p/m; 70GB Anytime Data
R399x18 Diamond: Free Anytime 100GB recurring p/m; 200GB Anytime Data

I understand that the bolded portion is the base and the free is the promo. Why is the anytime promo split into two? I understand that the promo data is ineligible for datashare.

when I phoned on Friday for the packages and gave them the deal codes. they had no idea what they were. So I think that the deal codes are unique to each person. There is also business retentions and then just retentions. The contract deals and BF offers are different for each one. I'm on business and wasn't able to get anything interesting.

Tried 135 > Business Retentions this morning. Gave up after 30min of their shebeen hold music.

Sent an email to the business support address with the 2 line numbers and the deals I want. Will see if they care to reply.

Try selecting Contract Cancellations when you dial 135. Those calls seem to be attended much faster. Inevitably ends up at retentions anyway.

anyone here have this deal or know anything about it? Seems sketchy

I upgraded to this package

Retensions did not want to give me a package for a separate new number

I had a lady call me back. She sounded tired . Her work load seemed to have overwhelmed her.

She could not match or beat the current offering of the BF2020 MyMTNChoice 400 deal.

She promised to call back during the week and discuss the cheaper migration packages. I am looking at the Voda R499 2TB deal as a replacement.

Just got this too, also assisted by the same lady.

She mentioned that another option was available but only for 24 Months: 60GB + 200 minutes for R149. (no deal code).
Did you phone normal retentions or business retentions or 135 then cancellations?

Isn’t that tied to a home address and speed limited?
