Currently on a 2020 BF deal expiring 2023.

Wondering if I should grab this one. Are the really good deals running on a two-year cycle from original BF deals? so good deals in 2018,2020, 2022, 2024?

Anyone with insights as to how last years deals compare to these ones?

I had the original BF deal in 2018, I had a good contract from 2018 to 2020 but I cant remember the specifics.

From 2020 to 2022 I got 600 min any network and 50GB for R280pm. I think I get 1GB of night data and 50 SMS. Not that those things are important lol. Hopefully I get something similar next week.

I think if you go back in this thread there was an excel sheet with all the deals posted
 
I should add that i'm on 2020 deal with 36 mth duration so if there is some sort of 24 mth cycle then it may make sense to try and stay on that but if its just my imagination then I can sleep on until next year

I got the below this morning - I was on the 100GB per month deal - does it mean I still get 100GB per month, but pay a slightly elevavted rate?

Your contract term has ended. Your contract has changed from R260.00 to R293.526 on a month-to-month term. Remember, you don't have any promo bundles and may be charged at out-of-bundle rates.

Usually any promo data will fall away. The BF data deals were usually a lower plan with promo data added on.

The initial killer deal 50GB@R150 (plus the included minutes!) was mindblowing, (worldwide) it was a brilliant deal. Those on the upgrades every 24 months had decent deals. The next year (and that 24 month upgrade cycle) had woeful BF packages. Good one year, bad the next, good the next...

I had the original deal - and on 24 mth cycle since, but took a 36 mth deal in 2020. So if your theory holds true I should upgrade now and not wait until 36mth deal expires next year

Yeah I am curious as to the deals this year as well via rententions. I am on the 500GB+500GB (of which 400GB is shareable) deal. If there is something like that with more data or cheaper, I may try to upgrade depending on the penalties.
 
Are we allowed to take out a 2nd new sim contract at while having a previous BF contract via Retensions?
 
Will MTN offer the retention deal to new customers? The deals for new customers aren't the best except for the 50gb
 
I just called retentions - they also had:

22 GB
75 min
R 119 x 24 months

52 GB
125 min
R 239 x 24 months

I am also on the 36 months contract ending next year, but I think I will upgrade this BF cycle since I have also noticed a bad deal cycle every two years.
Early upgrade fee R 174.50 to upgrade now will be charged to your account in addition to the new contract rate
 
Just spoke to retentions more deals coming Monday so if the current ones aren't to you liking give them a ring on Monday to see what they have.

Yeah, I have one 36m and one 24m, might just upgrade both now.
