MTN boosts LTE coverage and download speeds

MTN increased its coverage and improved the customer experience on its network between January and May 2018, according to chief technology and information officer Giovanni Chiarelli.

Speaking during an event at the Gerotek test track in Pretoria, Chiarelli said that MTN is effectively bringing nine new LTE sites online every day.

Can anyone see a difference in the real world?

Not a MTN subscriber, just want to know if this is reality or PR piece.

Yes my mtn speeds are better then any other network I have tested.

Also by far the best LTE-A coverage also for me in CPT. They also run mini towers inside malls, so all major malls have LTE-A and normally get min 25mps on speedtest.

Got 88Mbps visiting a township on MTN. I really do recommend their speeds

MTN has the best network. I play mobile online games and with MTN it's flawless. Vainglory and Mobile Legends runs very smooth. Considering it's a moba so latency should be stable and as low as possible and I get like 170ms to EU mobile moba servers. Telkom is like ~210ms and with Vodacom it's about the same. I can no even play games on Cellc LTE-A at all even with full signal.

MTN prepaid + Axxess or Afrihost bundle still remains the best value for money option out there.

Would love if they provided better then E in Bassonia, jhb ...
Occasionally 3G, but mostly not.
