MTN contract with NO DATA

hello

just wondering if anyone else has this issue. got an mtn contract that gives me roughly around 1gb of data. after the data is finished. i dont have any data what so ever...

i recall the days of when my data bundle ran out and but I could still use data (which i paid for extra, which was automatically add to the bill)

Out of bundle has been deactivated it seems.

Get afrihost mobile, cheap data and you dont have to leave MTN for to use it.

Lucky you. The OOB Shark can't eat you alive. Lick Rickster said, get Afrihost mobile data, which works on MTN. When your 1GB MTN data is finished, you just have to change your APN settings to Afrihost. At the start of the next month when MTN gives you another 1GB, change your APN back to MTN (apn name = internet). Changing APNs takes a few taps and less then 10 seconds.

So if you know you need 2GB per month, sign up for 1GB at Afrihost. When that is depleted you will be capped by default. However, you can set your Afrihost data to go out-of-bundle (but you can still set OOB limits) or you can set it to auto-topup in increments (again you can set a limit). Alternatively, you can do manual topups as you need, and this can be done via the mobile/smartphone app.

They changed their settings to only allow a certain amount over your bill once you reach the limit (be it SMS data or Minutes) you can set this what ever you want but i think most people by default were set to 0. this is actually a good thing since you not charged a ridiculous OOB charge (R2 per Mb). you can as suggested get the Afrihost APN or if you not needing extra very often, just buy a prepaid data bundle and add it to your phone.
