Does anyone know if MTN has some sort of notification thing w.r.t. their data bundles. Checked mine just now, and noticed I've gone over by an apparent R2xx.00

Maybe something going on as my 2gig plan is still working with my dash saying i've used 2.4gb......141 says i've still got 80odd Mb left.

I don't think they send out any notification like Voda does.If they do i've never recieved,it'll just start chowing into any credit.

141 1 4 gets you your data balance

17 August 2008, Xrapidx...the day when they will have to start notifying you :D

I know... I just didnt check my balance since early in the month - sorta an effort to do. Would be nice if they implemented a process like most ISPs where they send an email or something.

Yes, they send them out monthly via the postal service, they call it an 'invoice' or something.

Guess if your using a ph to connect this ain't much help but
with the E620 dash i hit "clear" to reset the volume stats when i load a new bundle.
Thats the best way i've found to keep an eye on it.
Not sure if its the same with the dash used on the E220/272

Yeah...using my phone... loaned my E220 to the company - not actually sure what happened to it

I know its not MTNs fault (this time) that I'm over... but a warning system would be nice.

Try downloading the freebie NetMeter (easily Googled) which is generally very accurate and is very flexible in terms of tracking your data bundle. Great for keeping logs as well, and will warn you when your bundle is almost dead depending on where you set the limits.

162 Only updates a day later. (Contract)
If you 20MB now and download 20MB, you should have nothing left. Dial *162*pin# and you will still have 20MB left. Tomorrow it will show zero.
Prepaid shows immediatly. *141#
I use both with netmeter and never go over my bundle.

Why is that prepaid users' data usage gets updated immediately and contract users need to wait a long time before the data used is reflected - as I found out very expensively!!
